Any building with its own history is worth my attention and if it is a plant, that was built more than 100 years ago, such as Superior Clay’s plant my attention immediately turns into genuine interest. The abovementioned plant is situated near the Stillwater Creek from where it joins the Tuscarawas River. This plant’s main orientation is creating a wide variety of high quality products from local clays.
All their products are crafted with an aesthetic touch and careful attention to detail. The sands are running out and a variety of products from Superior Clay’s plant has changed from architectural terra cotta reproductions, to elegant chimney pots, wine storage, fireplaces and masonry ovens. It is a family business, filled with love, there is no other way of manufacturing when clay is a passion. All products are crafted from local clays, what is more they are hand-rubbed and sculpted.
I am not a great admirer of clay products, so I am not sure what it is that’s making me like these products so much, but I do. I am not even a serious collector, but I still want to store wine in Terra Cotta Tiles. They possess special physical properties, resulting in both perfect conditions for wine storage and aesthetic look of your house.
