Today I would like to tell you a story about one of the most impressive and unusual collections ever. The owner of the Studio B.I.B, that is a Toronto based creative studio, Allister Lee would like to have the most extensive collection of black markers in the world. Allister was inspired by an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest collection of cigarette rolling.
Allister calls his documentation of this collection the Black Marker B.I.B.L.E. He claims that nowadays the collection contained 523 unique black markers, and it is grows.
Allister started the collection in 2002. London was expensive. The goal of the artist is to reach 1000 black markers and then to present a nice exhibition of both the marker drawings and the markers themselves.
The artist says that he has no interest in collecting colored markers.
Art and design have an influence on all aspect of our day to day life. They affect and guide the esthetic of products big and small from architecture to stationary and
awesome collection! I´ve never seen so many black markers… My own “collection” are remains from tagging and writing in the 90´s. But I got some markers from the 70´s I´m proud of.
