That is the official definition of the notion chromosome taken from Wikipedia. I love the most the form of any chromosome – twisted and changing. And it seems to me that I am not the only one who likes it. Industrial designer Javier Alejandre from Madrid has created a completely new kind of lamp – that looks unlike anything we’ve seen before.

According to the artist he took inspiration from the genealogical tree and the best part – you can create the form and shape you like. It is possible to configure the lamp the way you want and need.

The lamp is completely adaptable and can be unique almost as the real chromosome. You can easily add or remove a couple of pieces and create the lamp you need and adore.

Maurizio Lamponi used to be an ordinary student of ordinary Mechanical Engineering Faculty in Milan, he learned technique, manufacturing and art… But, it was not his way, he wasn’t interested in what he was learned. So, when occasion offered he started collaborating with a photographer and in 1984 even managed to open his own design studio.

His bio is bright and interesting but it is not the point of our conversation, so let’s better enjoy his works, namely – LAMPS. It is important to know, that every lamp is “an only copy” and if you have chosen a lamp, that is not available right now, you’ll have to wait not less then 30 days . No doubts, it takes some time to manufacture this masterpiece. And, pay attention, even two lamps of one model, can have some differences.
