I can name myself a boring and conservative person but this particular rug hasn’t impressed at all. It gives as an opportunity to understand what it’s like to walk on a human skin. A designer Chrissy Conant has created a bear skin rug, but with a human.
According to the artist it is a self-portrait and it represents her relationship to her parents. The rug is made from a silicone rubber cast. As to me, it looks really disgusting, would you like to have one?
I love Chrissy’s rug and the bear with needles instead of fur, which belongs to this piece. It is very thoughtful, thoughtprovoking and makes you feel something and that’s what art is about. The question is not if you want one in your living room.
