Origami is something really incomprehensible. I love them, they look so good and what I like the most is the fact that it is impossible to find out how they were made. Actually, we call origami some creative things done from paper without any glue.

Most of people claim that this art takes it roots from Japan but some scientists seem to be sure that it came from China. This art implies fantastic process of paper folding and creating some mind-blowing images. The traditional form of origami is based on a square piece of paper and in capable hands of a master it get numerous forms and shapes. I just wanna once again to stress the fact that this art did not involve cutting and pasting.

From the 16th century France and Spain has started learning the art of origami creating. The people of Spain used to fold the paper documents or baptismal certificates. What most people love about origami, they can be created in both complicated and simple form.

Nowadays, you can easily meet special origami paper that is mostly 15cm. Together with paper one can buy patterns of the most common origami things. One of the most famous shapes in Japanese Origami is a Crane. To have a crane in the house means to own a lucky symbol. There is a legend in Japan: if the person makes thousand paper cranes all his or her desires will come true. The origami crane symbolizes peace.

As for the word itself, it comes from the Japanese language, where oru means “to fold”, and kami means “paper”.
