Well, it seems to me I already know the most incredible building of 2012 and it is Elbphilharmonie, or the new home for the Hamburg Philharmonic. According to the numerous rumours the building will be designed and erected by architects Herzog + de Meuron. Let me tell you, that they are responsible for a cultural transformation in Bilbao, Spain. The price of their project is about of 323 million Euros.

The design promises to be really mind-blowing and eye-catching. The new concert hall will tower 300 feet atop and will look like a real ship. Apart from a concert hall the building will include a 250-room hotel, luxurious condominiums, conference areas, a nightclub, a parking lot.

The building will boats panoramic views of the Elbe and the harbor. I am ready to bet the sound will be top-notch, regardless of style. There are approximately 2,150 seats in the largest hall.
