Beginning!

To tell the truth, I am fond of castles, ancient homes and things, antique masterpieces and fire-places. It seems to me that the epoch of knights and generous men is again in its full swing. I adore watching program Grand Designs. Yesterday I saw a program about the reconstruction of Old English Castle in Yorkshire. Francis Shaw and his wife, Karen, and their 2 daughters always believed, that a famous English proverb My home is my castle is completely true for this couple. I love the location of this castle, it is surrounded field and everything around it is green! This family bought the ruined 14th Century castle in Yorkshire and made an excellent home out of it. Now it looks like a goregeous and magnificent castle. This castle was almost rebuilt!

While looking this program it turned out that Francis is mad about castles since his childhood and this project is a great challenge for him, because he ia an architect himself and here he will be able to show his creativity and taste and make a perfect castle. His main idea to be closer to nature, thus, his workers live near this castle and they will try to use original stone.

Budget!

Well, the budget, as it turned out, is the most controversial issue in any program. And the practice shows, everybody needs much more money, than they planned! So, original budget was 400,000 pound sterling and, if to estimate everything, they paid approximately 750,000 pound sterling.

Reconstruction!

As for me it is possible to name this castle a bird Phoenix, because it was built almost from nothing, they spent a lot of time while designing it and then while building there were a lot of problems, but finally, they did it! This castle do exist and it perfect!

Judgements!

Don’t worry or be upset! In a couple of minutes we will see the pictures of this Ancient Castle and now let’s find out the opinion of Kevin, a person, who was together with Francis, Karen and their daughters while building this castle. Kevin mentioned tha the saw a lot of such projects, each is very interesting, some are promising and some are disappointing. Some touch your heart and some even vains from your memory. What can I tell you about this building? Francis and Karen – they are not only a loving couple and happy family, they are an excellent team! They risked a lot but the is worth the candles. They put at stake everything they had – their money, time, future and lives. Now they own an ideal place for living, but it is all not only about place and house, what is more, they saved a historical monument from destruction. They tried their best, inspired each other and finally won! They deserve such a home!
