Alyssa’s Ettinger favourite material is clay, may be she beliefs that everything can be made with its help. Because making things and products out of this material is not a hobby, it is a deal of her life, her profession and her passion.

Alyssa Ettinger is a famous pottery designer. From the first sight, it is possible to suppose, that all her works can be entitled as: “Nothing special!” But, at a closer look, it turned out, that they are almost perfect, incredibly stylish and are a good emphasis to any interior. bowls from Alyssa

Her first pot Alyssa has made at summer camp, when she was only 14-years-old. Afterwards, she finished The Putney School and got BA in Ceramics (Bennington College). After College she worked as in a Publishing house, in 2005 Alyssa has even published her own book, but something deep inside doesn’t let her live a normal life, she needed some changes. After some hesitations and pieces of advice from friends, she was persuaded to took a pottery class at the studio where her friend studied. Right at the end of the first lesson, Alyssa understood, that she doesn’t want to stay apart and she wants to devote her time, all her time to ceramics. This occupation was exciting to her. So, she found her own studio, took 50 pounds of porcelain and started creating her own dinnerware. The first line was entitled Mieko - it is a name of a friend, that helped Alyssa to find her destination.

Nowadays, Alyssa is a successful dinnerware designer, she has a studio in Brooklyn and she can allow herself to work not for money but for pleasure.
