Hello, dear readers and friends, let me congratulate you on Thanksgiving Day and wish you only good luck and happiness. I don’t know the author of the following verse, but it perfectly reflects the spirit of Thanksgiving Day.

“Without Thy sunshine and Thy rain
We could not have the golden grain;
Without Thy love we’d not be fed;
We thank Thee for our daily bread.”

Happy thanksgiving day

So, please, don’t forget to beautify your homes. It is no use to make complicated decoration, you can just make :

  1. Traditional flower posy;
  2. Autumn door wreath;
  3. Cranberry centerpiece;
  4. Dried wheat bundles.

Good luck and happy Thanksgiving Day!

Christmas Coming – Be Ready With Presents

I hate being unprepared to any holiday and to spend 2 or 3 days while searching for presents instead of roasting a Turkey and decorating my house to a holiday. I just can’t stand it… So, while Internet surfing, I came across a DecorationTricks Blog and found it extremely interesting. The design is simple, but stylish and the combination of yellow and green is really wonderful. The article about Strathwood Snowball reminded me – it’s time to think about presents beforehand!!! The following lights have remote controls, they are extremely convenient. I think, I would like to buy one. Thanks!

Also, at a ModernFlat Blog I found another unusual present – the Lapdawg X4. It is a table-transformer, that can be used as a bed tray, a book holder and a laptop table. It must be so convenient! I like it so much. I think everybody will be glad to receive such a table as a present! By the way, ModernFlat blog is one of my favourite blogs. Because it tells about various cool inventions, doodads and things better than any other blog. Thanks again!

Exhibitions are always feasts and they attract thousands of people. And, as a rule, only popular artists are highlighted there. But, not so, far I visited an exhibition of my friends. One of them is a 4th-years student at Architecture University. She is extremely talented and almost all her things are masterpieces. I adore watching her working or creating something. This exhibition “WaterParad” was devoted to Seven Wonders of The World, she was showing her basin in a Student Concept division.

So, don’t be confused or puzzled, each basin possesses its own title, sometimes really strange, but…

The first one, is a general view onto the whole exposition. It is amazing, isn’t it?

General view - exhibition

The next one is a marvellous basin from transparent glass, so it is lovely to wash your hands in it and to enjoy water. It has no siphon, so, you can just pour water there and fresh yourself.

t is not very cold today, well, actually, not extremely cold. But, the presence of winter is clearly perceived. The wind is strong and even icy, leaves are still falling, some trees are almost nude. It seems that my soul is freezing together with the Earth and ground. So, just to warm it up, I decided to drink a cup of tea and to write a list of things I want to be in my own home. No doubts, I can wish a hat from Phillip Treacy or a picture from Pablo Picasso, it doesn’t matter, I will never have one. At least, this autumn. Dear friends, pay attention, things, apart from various and ultra expensive TV-sets, DVD’s, gold desk accessories and so on. Just funny and stylish doodads.

  1. The first place is occupied with… a picture from Vladimir Kush or Jacek Yerka. I will hang it in my hall and will spent hours while looking at it, enjoying it and finding new details. It is so thrilling. And, please, don’t even dare to think that these pictures are cheap and not popular at all, oh, no, in no case. I just don’t have to compete with Louvre in order to hang it in my own room. I adore surrealism, it is incredible art.

  2. The next thing I would like to see in my home is a KISS Chair from Silence and Grace. Why? Because it can make me laugh, it will draw attention of my friends and occasional visitors, because I feel myself a real designer while looking at it (actually, this chair is made in a form orchid, but I can spend hours while proving, that it is a KISS!) But, I don’t want to cheat myself – it is not convenient at all.

Robots can’t be fun, bright and amazing? Not, it’s not right. Robots are new way of expressing your thoughts and ideas, what is more, they can give new life to very old things. They can make an old wheel, bowl or something like this shining. Just enjoy!

Scotty Puppy robot

Soon, robots will leave among us: people begin treating them like a normal and even integral part of everyday life. Numerous ads, books and even movies are responsible for this. Lockwasher Design Lab makes incredible robots, they can become both your friends and a beautiful decoration of your home. The founder of the Lab is Paul Loughridge. Very often people mispronounce his name and the name Lockwasher was given by a classmate, so, it sounds well. Paul enjoys creating new stuff from old stuff. Actually, Paul attended art classes, but he believes, that a real genius has nothing from the University and everything from his birth and since childhood. To tell the truth, process of robots creating is challenging and exhausting, sometimes, Paul can spend the whole day, while creating a small detail to one robot. Paul takes materials from the nearest Flea Market or his own garage and inspiration from his surroundings, childhood and friends.
