The horses are currently on view at the Chatsworth House grounds in the UK through October 31st is the annual Sotheby’s Beyond Limits sculpture exhibition.

It is the first time Damien Hirst shows his works entitled Legend and Myth, and they are his vision of a winged horse and a unicorn.

Stacking Vessels by Pia Wüstenberg

I can’t wait when Pia Wüstenberg will start showing her Stacking Vessels at the London Design Festival this month. All the vases are fantastic and wull be the main focal point of any house

Each vase is made of three different types of material, and they show amazing harmony of color and texture.

This collection consists of five stacking vessels. How do you like it?

65,000 Old CDs Create Metallic Sea

I am simply impressed and can’t take my eyes off the following awesome installation … can you?!

Here comes an amazing metallic sea created by French artist Elise Morin and architect Clémence Eliard. Are you ready to face it? The artists hand sewed 65,000 old CDs and laid them out on inflatable mounds. So their sea of discs looks really stunning and attracts attention as a magnet.

The main idea behind this exhibition is to show the precious aspect of a small daily object. To put it short the exhibit is called “Wastelandscape” and is located in Paris. The point is to transform the seemingly mundane objects that we take for granted into monumental “sculptures” as they reach the end of their life.

If you really like this “still sea of metallic dunes” you’d better hurry up to check it out before September 10, 2011. Afterwards the exhibition will then travel to other locations!

Baptiste Debombourg Staples Art

Have a look at the following Aggravure by France artist Baptiste Debombourg. It looks usual and even a bit boring, yeah?! But the realization of its unique design comes only after a closer inspection … The whole picture is made from … staples.

According to the artist he used 35 000 staples and 75 hours to create this masterpiece.

The picture shows how a “Superman” flies straight down towards the earth.

Ink Calendar by Oscar Diaz

When I saw the following Ink calendar created by a Spanish designer Oscar Diaz I was suspiciously looking for a trick in order to get an explanation how it works. And I was very surprised to discover that everything is as easy as ABC and there are no hidden ideas here. Ink Calendar helps you count day and be aware of the dates.

The technique is really simple – there is a bottle of ink and a calendar with number of days. The ink is absorbed slowly, and the numbers in the calendar appear daily. One by one and if to be precise one a day, they are filled with ink.

The invention will affect your soul and heart rather than mind.

Jason DeMarte Abstract Art

Jason DeMarte is a famous and talented American artist who was born in Louisiana in 1973. However, most of his life he spent in Colorado admiring its natural beauty, amazing landscapes and relaxing atmosphere. His interests were evident: nature and photography. Now Jason has his B.F.A. in Photography and his M.F.A in Photography. He visited numerous countries and enjoyed their cultures gradually embodying them in his current works.

His works are welcomed guests at numerous exhibitions, galleries and museums. As to me, most of his them are simply incredible. They are highly thought-provoking and inspiring.“Prescribed Paradise” is among my favourites. I love the striking contrast between the notion Paradise and the process of drug taking.

His Utopic collection is the hottest ever, since it presents real-life objects in a variety of forms and designs. Love it. It seems to me that I can spend hours while enjoying some of its pictures.

Lucky Spot by Stella McCartney

Stella McCartney seems to be an omni-present and too successful to be true woman. Everything she touches turns into pure gold, she is capable of designing, creating, and even selling. Now she has created a Lucky Spot from Swarovski crystals that amazingly hangs down from the ceiling of the the castle like a curtain and creates the shape of a sparkling horse. Actually, the following thing was created in 2004, but only after 5 years it has returned to the place in which Stella was inspired: Belsay Castle.

All viewers of the sculpture should be grateful to funding from Castle Morpeth Borough Council, because namely they tried their best in order people to enjoy this amazing horse. Stella was stunned with the beauty of the castle and made her mind to create something equally fantastic and visually mind-blowing.

Pentawards 2008 – The Worldwide Packaging Design Competition Results

Hi dears today I would like to share with you the masterpieces of the winners of the Worldwide Packaging Design Competition – Pentawards 2008.

Diamond Pentawards 2008 was given to PIEPER HEIDSIECK Rosé Sauvage by VIKTOR & ROLF for their Upside Down… Their bottle is really fantastic. Its design is too simple to be true but still amazing and so damn cool. It is timeless. They seem to do nothing special but it looks so cool and original. The idea is extremely plain but at the same time oh-so-creative. Thanks to this idea champagne packaging got another live – funky and interesting.

I can’t but mention platinum awards, and my absolute love is a bottle of mineral water. So clear and so nice. I don’t know how the water tastes but I would like to buy it … because of water since it looks like crystal clear one!!!

And the following creative soap powder packaging design? Isn’t it great?

“StatuePhilia” at the British Museum

Dears, if you happen to visit Britain in the following week one of the must-have places will be the British Museum. From Saturday the 4th of October 2008 it will offer one of the most spectacular exhibitions ever. Five leading and most popular contemporary British artists will show their works at the British Museum. The show is called statuephilia.

I wonder how they will arrange everything in order new works not to worsen the view with the Museum’s permanent collection.

A famous and expensive statue of Kate Moss will be shown namely at this exhibition.

I can’t wait to enjoy the photos of Ron Mueck Mask II, his widely exhibited sleeping Self-Portrait.

Jeff Koons Versailles Pop Art Exhibition

One of the greatest US pop art artists Jeff Koons made his own exhibition in the Chateau of Versailles. His works had the sharpest contracts with the royal apartments and gardens ever. The 53-year-old artist thinks that it is OK and he feels fine while stirring up Paris. According to his own words: “To be here in Versailles, it feels so profound, it feels so right.”

Frankly speaking, this exhibition can be named the 1st one devoted to the world’s biggest-selling living artist along. The event attracted numerous visitors and it was really fascinating to enjoy them wondering through out the palace with their mouths slightly agape. Most of them were bemused: the royal furnishings and pop works.

But most of them agreed that it was AWFUL! It was like a quizzery, or a kind of mock. The only one thing I liked there was “Large Vase of Flowers” in the queen’s bedroom. They perfectly matched the overall motif of the palace.
